Teacher Appreciation Gift

Sheesh! What a weekend; just got my teacher appreciation gift finished LAST night for my son's teacher. I started it Thursday night but couldn't find my SANDING BLOCK anywhere for the edges. Friday was my Art Final and it POURED rain all day; so I couldn't get out to Michaels for another sanding block... oh and you'd think we might have some sand paper lying around here somewhere? NOPE:/ So I gave Gavin's teacher a card on Friday and let her know that her gift would arrive in his hands Monday morning.

So I opted to decoupage one of these $1 frames from Michaels; I thought the "teacher" look would be cute 'n fun! I LOOOOVED getting gifts like this when I taught preschool MANY moons ago! I just Modge-Podged this baby up; and added some fun Chipboard Letter Stickers that I got a huge set for from CRAFTY STEALS; if you are on Facebook, find their page and "LIKE" it. OMgoodness, she has a deal of the day and I got a 6 pack of big chipboard letter stickers for like $13; it was originally waaaay more than that, she has the items heavily discounted.

I added my signature, I guess you could call it, look with the prima flowers and buttons- just fun 'n whimsical things to add to a craft- my fave things indeed!

Here is the back side of the frame...

I didn't have a class pic with her and the kids; she was on maternity leave from October to February. So she wasn't in any of the class pics I took this year. So I opted to let her find a photo she likes to add to the frame.

I hope she loves it! I just wanted to give her something small last week to let her know we appreciate all the hard work she does!
For her end of the year gift, I ordered this ADORABLE warmer from SCENTSY for her...

Isn't it so cute?!

I also got her a brick of the Red Candy Apple scent to add to her warmer...

I figured she can take it home over the summer and use it; then maybe bring it back for the school year to make the classroom smell yummy!
These warmers are FLAMELESS and plug into the wall with a cord; it uses a small light bulb to warm the wax to melt it!
And the best part... the wax is a little warm so if small hands get into it, they won't get burnt... GENIUS!!

.....................................

Hope you all have a great Monday!
We are supposed to start painting today but we will see...
hubby is still in the DOGHOUSE with me for Mothers Day:(
That story is still to come!!

Hi there...thanks for your visit and kindness. Believe me, I know how hard it is raising a family, people used to tell me how quick it would go by and I would think (on some days) not quick enough for me! But it was true...I don't know how they all grew up so fast but they did. You have really handsome sons, hang in there! :D
