So today Brian took the boys to run errands with him to give me a little break! He has been working a lot lately between his new job and for his dad's restaurant. I have hardly seen him, but have been with the boys round the clock; which has been very tiring! I ran a couple errands and found myself being called to Goodwill- a different one this time. Found some cool stuff:) I was all excited about my finds, feeling crafty and inspirational too; I got home to see a grouchy Brian complaining about how messy our house is, as he was doing the dishes from yesterday! So I began to feel guilty for bringing home "more junk" as he would say. I didn't spend a lot of money and have good intentions on using the items.
I did put some things back that I felt I/we didn't really need for the house.
I am on a mission now to declutter our home of all the things I have been hanging onto; thinking that I will use again. I am a SENTIMENTAL PACKRAT!! I have such a hard time getting rid of work that Gavin brings home from school, I feel sad and guilty throwing it away! So I have to force myself to do it when he isn't looking. Our main problem in this house is the lack of storage to make things look organized! What I wouldn't give for built-in bookshelves in our kids rooms and especially in our basement area!!

Look at his cool old mirrored tray?
I think I am going to hang it up as a mirror in our bedroom.

I really liked how this frame was made; kinda worn out looking. I am debated whether or not to spray paint it or leave it as is, but the picture is coming out of it! lol I am using the toile paper I found at Michael's for inside the frame.

Same goes with this one! The ducks gotta go and its getting sprayed black and the damask patterned paper is going inside. Wonder how it will turn out?

I thought these hook/shelves were a steal and cute too. Thinking of hanging a couple pot holders from them!

I had 2 more GREAT finds today but they are going to be in another post.

More great finds...I'm due to go to the thrift shop again soon:-) The one near here has been closed since Christmas Eve and they're only reopening on Jan. 5th so I'm impatiently waiting! lol
I know how hard it is to let go of things, I was the same way but once you start decluttering, it's such a good feeling. I was going through some of my stuff today and have a huge green garbage bag full to bring to the charity center on Monday. xoxo
Ha-ha! When I went to the Goodwill yesterday, my cart quickly added up to $20.00. That's when I walked round and round the store asking those hard questions and putting things back one by one! "Do you *really* like this? Is this *really* a good deal? Don't you * really*want to save some money for the next trip?" I ended up paying $7.00 for my little haul and came home feeling happy and thrifty! I ended up buying ONLY fabric for future wreath projects!
