Whew, what a weekend!
If you are on my Facebook page you have seen that I've been having leg pain:(
Well I ended up in the ER on Sunday afternoon...
I have a bulging varicose vein on my right inner thigh, been there for 9 year :(
Its been acting up this week, feeling warmer than usual, hardening at time and then I was having pains shoot down into my calf. Saturday night I felt like "bubbles" under the skin near the vein.
Well I have a blood clotting disorder so I started to panic!
I had hubby take me to the er and they did a leg ultrasound and found blood clots in the superficial veins near the surface, no clots in the deep veins- which is good cause clots in the deep veins can break off and travel to the heart, lungs, etc.... very scary!
So the ER doc put me on anti-inflammatory meds and pain meds.
I went to a Vein Clinic today for a consult above having this problem treated...
come to find out, THEY DON'T TAKE MY TYPE OF INSURANCE!!
I would have to SELF PAY and the procedure is $5,000.00!
Yea, like I have that lying around!!
They do have assistance they offer and payment options but that is way more than we can spend right now:(
So I was referred by them to a family dr. that has specialties in blood clotting disorders and vein issues, I see him tomorrow and hope to get some answers!
I am PRAYING I can find a clinic somewhere in Indiana that will accept my insurance so I can have this treated.
The dr today told me NO running, jogging, ZUMBA :( or stomping... I need to wear support hose on that leg for most of the day to help with the blood flow.
I am SO STRESSED about this!
Prayers are MUCH NEEDED please ♥

Oh that just sucks! I wish you well and hope the place is reputable! And people complain of nat'l healthcare huh? Instances like this are one reason why we need it, tired of honest people getting deprived of good care due to their provider! Keep in touch, love,Mom
Oh' My' that is so scary. I sure hope you can find a doc. that will take your insurance. I will keep you in my prayers. Just do what that doc. said and take care of that leg... support hose!!! HA! I sound like I am your mom. Seriously, I feel so bad for ya, having pain isn't fun either. BOOOO, hang in there. Can't wait for the kiddie swap. Good night, Jenn

yikes for blood clots! praying that you get some answers and that someone will take your insurance. i had some vein surgery last fall and know that those support hose suck! i can't imagine having to wear them in the summer! keep your feet elevated and definitely take it easy:-)
