Not that I would ask (beg) my son for my Mother's Day gift he made me at school, a day early... ok, I did!! LOL He was like "I said you could have it a day early!" So he gave me his precious hand-made gift that he worked on at school and I got all teary eyed and momma-mushy!
His gift that I will show below made me think of this poem written from a child's perspective about his/her mommy. I'd like to share this precious poem with you... grab a kleenex cause its a TEAR JERKER!!
When You Thought I Wasn't Looking
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you hang my first picture on the refrigerator,
and I wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you feed a stray cat, and I thought
it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make my favorite cake for me,
and I knew that little things are special things.
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I heard you say a prayer,
and I believed there was a God that I
could always talk to.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I felt you kiss me good night,
and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned
that sometimes things hurt,
but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw that you cared and I wanted to be
everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I looked....and now I want to say thanks
for all the things I saw,
when you thought I wasn't looking.

Here is a close-up of the card... he said "Look I colored the letters in your favorite colors, pink and brown, mom!" Awww... sniff, sniff... he remembered his mommy's fave colors!!

He also made this book called "My Mom Wears Many Hats"; this book is what made me think of the poem I shared above. He wrote about some of the little things I do, that I NEVER thought would be all that important to him, but come to find out, THEY ARE!!!

"My mom wears many hats in our family. My mom is a teacher. She taught me how to... Speak!" Wow, good one son!!

"My mom is a cook. I love it when she makes jello!"
(This totally cracked me up; he loves grape jello and drew jello jigglers!! All the YUMMY things I make and who would of thought that my jello is the BOMB! LOL)

"My mom is an engineer. She can always fix... a rip!"
(He drew the rip that was on his Pokemon book that I taped!!)

"My mom is a magician. She can always find lost things. Once she found my... game chip."
(HE ALWAYS loses his DS game pieces!!!)

OMG, this little book just made my day! I love my sweet boys even when they are the biggest turds in the world! All the sleepless nights I endure, tantrums, the messes created by them... are all worth it; because I have them!!
I'll be back tomorrow to post Scrapbook Sunday; actually I may just do it tonite cause tomorrow will be busy. Have some tissues on hand for that post too!!
Hugs,
Noelle ♥

Aw! Sweet, sweet, sweet!
One of the draw backs of homeschooling is that there's not a teacher lady helping Micah make me a card. :<
That is too sweet, you'll have to save that forever!
