Ahhhhh... a sigh of relief is what I have now that I visited my new gyno dr. today. I sat and talked with her explaining all of my troubles such as the weight gain, being unable to have a period on my own, etc. She looked at me and said "Sounds to me like you may have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. And... I wonder if you aren't pre-diabetic"!!!! Helloooooo... this is everything that I was telling my OLD dr. and she never said anything about this!!
I have to fast for 12 hours starting tonite at 8 pm and go in tomorrow for an Insulin test. She told me that she would call me when she got the results and we'd go from there. The more and more that I read about the PCOS, it has me wondering about the pre-diabetes! It would explain the rapid weight gain, difficulty that I have losing the weight among other numerous things too.
Its scary to think that I might have this and have to COMPLETELY change my lifestyle and eating but KNOWING that I will have ANSWERS to my problems and be on the right track to losing weight and feeling better, both mentally and physically makes me want to JUMP for JOY!
I am so grateful that I was referred to a good and understanding doctor FINALLY! I pray that things get better from here on:)
Chat later, I'm off to exercise for the 3rd day in a row- YIIIPPPEEE for me!!
Hugs,
Noelle ♥

I love it when a doctor actually listens to what you tell them! Sounds like your new doctor knows what she's doing!
Wow - I am so glad that you went to see someone else and someone who listened and maybe has an answer for you. Good for you for listening to your own intuition!
Oh Noelle ~ I hope the tests go well..and I agree, sounds like your doctor knows what she is doing! Keep us posted!

It must feel good to finally have a doctor who is trying to find a solution. I am so glad you are working with a doctor who doesn't just dismiss your concerns!
I think it's much better to know what you are dealing with, and not be wondering...if you know what you are dealing with you can take action. It's the not knowing that's the worst for me.
Plus if you do end up being prediabetic there are many positive steps you can take, take it from me being diabetic isn't the worst thing in the world and making healthful lifestyle changes will be better for you all around anyway. At least that's what I've found. You can always lean on me, I've been there.
So glad you are getting answers!!
Noelle! So happy for you that progress is being made!

Isn't it wonderful when you find a doctor who listens!! I am so glad you left the other doctor.
I hope the test go well.
I am so jealous that you are shredding! I need to feel better and get off my butt!
Noelle see it as ahuge positive.
I have suffered from many and varied 'Womens" problems and Polycystic ovaries...Often it also causes huge issues concieveing.
As diabetes The vast majority of the population are.
We all should eat a DIABETICS DIET so to speak as it actually in fact a True healthy balanced diet.
I never felt better than when My Diabetes was under control...Though I had to have Insulin too to control my Levels not just diet.
All the best,At least you are well on the way to some answers
I gained 60 lbs in 2 months when I was diagnosed with P.C.O.S. Still gaining and no luck losing any no matter what I do.Have diabeties and heart trouble now also.Got diagnosed 5 years ago.I wish you the best.Email if you have any questions.
Finally it sounds like you`re getting somewhere ! Good to read that you have now a great doctor and knows her stuff !!
Good luck !!
Doesn't it feel so good when you can finally find a doctor who actually LISTENS! I had one doctor for over 20 years and she never gave me any answers, always just pushing the pills....then lo and behod, I got to see another doctor at a walk in clinic who completely changed my life by diagnosing me correctly and giving me the help I needed. Hope your tests are going well and even if the insulin tests come out positive, at least you'll know exactly what's going on with your body and can get the right help!!! xoxo
